How Do I Find a Product?
There are two main ways to find a product:
- Search content and metadata of a product using Product Search (the textfield in the top right)
- Browse the online Product Catalogue ("Browse Catalogues" in the left-hand side menu)
Product Search
The Product Search searches words within the TVET Product Services catalogue, including product title, description and content, and ranks the results. Each product matched to a word will display and each subsequent word match will rank it higher. Product Search is generally limited to a total of three "meaningful" words.
Product Search hints:
- The search routine excludes common words, such as "and", "but', "which"
- Avoid generic or broad meaning words such as "communication", "training" etc.
- Use word combinations rather than phrases e.g. searching for "dangerous gas emission" will give a similar result to "dangerous spill" but listed products and ranking will differ
- Product Search finds your words strings individually and as phrases, so sequence words accordingly
Browse the Catalogue
Browse products in the Online Catalogue (located in the left hand menu column). Select the industry sector or category (e.g. Business Services) by selecting the link. This will display the list of all product headers for this industry sector or category. You then need to drill down to the individual product items to order.
Once you have moved down to a product item, you will usually also be able to access a sample by select the icon or the product image.
