Publishing with ATP

Materials Development

Do you want to have the materials published and/or distributed by Australian Training Products?

If you do, we are interested in talking to you. Some developers of quality materials have succeeded in recovering some of their investment through royalties obtained from distribution of their materials by ATP.

Do your materials support the National Training Framework?

All ATP published and distributed publications must support the principles of the National Training Framework and be consistent with national training reform. Titles are marketed in accordance with the Australian Qualifications Framework and recognised as supporting the Training Package or recognised through accreditation.

Would they meet Quality Assurance guidelines for Training Package Support and Other Materials?

Australian Training Products' priority is to enter into exclusive and non-exclusive agreements to publish/reproduce and market Training Package support materials, which are "noted" by the National Training Quality Council and listed on the National Training Information Service (NTIS). In addition, publicly funded and other support materials that relate to AQF qualifications in the VET sector, in areas not covered by Training Packages, will also be distributed.

Are the materials affordable?

ATP will only enter into agreements where products would be affordable to the range of ATP customers. As Australian Training Products is a not-for-profit company, it keeps its pricing low. However we recognise that developers have invested in the materials and require a return on investment in the form of royalties.

How will the publications look?

All publications are printed and finished on-demand to ensure that the versions are always the latest and to reduce the amount of titles stored for sale and delivery. They will be finished professionally with unique covers; ATP uses its expert designers and editors to advise on this. The materials must be available in digital format.

What if I have published/printed the materials already?

Provided that the copyright owner can demonstrate they meet the production/ distribution standards applied by ATP, wholesale arrangements between ATP and the copyright owner will from time to time be made where the copyright owner prints the materials.

What are the legal arrangements?

A license between the copyright owner and ATP will outline the intellectual property rights of each party in the matter of the distribution, marketing and associated rights over the materials. ATP will not automatically undertake the management of any copyright matters in relation to materials copyright to other developers/writers.

The materials may or may not have been attributed an AESharenet mark by a copyright owner who is a party to the agreement, but preference will be given to materials which have been attributed with an AESharenet mark.

How will the materials be marketed?

Materials published and distributed under license will be marketed under the same conditions, as are current publicly-owned materials. That is, they will be marketed through ATP's catalogue-on-line, included in the company's half-yearly published catalogue, through its specific industry brochures and targeted marketing campaigns and exhibited, as appropriate, nationally. The copyright owner will be acknowledged and consulted over the marketing strategy in relation to their materials.

How do I submit an Expression of Interest?
