A Balancing Act Toolbox 11.06
The A Balancing Act Toolbox supports learning and assessment for a total of eleven units from the FNS40207 Certificate IV in Financial Services (Bookkeeping) qualification. Additionally, learning a comprehensive ‘RPL Expressway’ resource within the Toolbox will enable RPL processes and streamlined learning pathways to facilitate fast-track learning and holistic assessment processes.
To ground learning in a realistic context representative of the day-to-day work of a bookkeeper, a fictional setting has been created.
The learner will work through a series of ‘jobs’ for their clients in the seaside town of Summerville, utilising a full set of books and transaction records provided for each client, to provide a contextual framework for the tasks and a ‘real-life’ learning experience.
The target learners for this Toolbox will be persons either currently working in the bookkeeping or finance field or seeking career progression from within the industry.
They will already hold a Certificate III in Financial Services qualification, or be eligible for RPL at a Certificate III level based on their prior industry experience.
Learners are likely to be familiar with computer-based accounting, and with relevant software packages used within the bookkeeping profession. However, the Toolbox supports learning in both manual and computerised procedures and in most cases demonstrates the full manual process for all transactions.
The Toolbox is suitable for self-paced/self-directed learning, but also offers opportunities for collaborative learning.
Teachers are supported by a comprehensive guide and suggested delivery and assessment strategies that can be used.
A Balancing Act supports learning and assessment for a total of eleven units in the FNS40207 (Certificate IV in Financial Services (Bookkeeping)) qualification, from the FNS04 Financial Services Training Package. This includes four industry core units, and seven sectoral core units that are specific to the skills and knowledge required in the bookkeeping profession.
