Supports FDF30103 Certificate III in Food Processing from the FDF03 Food Processing Industry Training Package.
The Toolbox contains two of the four core units and six of the nine specialty units required for the Certificate III in Food Processing.
The overarching metaphor is FPT Foods, a fictitious food processing company with several divisions. The company is conducting a training program for some existing staff. The program enables the workers to work in and learn about the work performed in different areas. Two employees, Phil and Salena, have volunteered for the program. As the learners work through the Toolbox, they work alongside Phil or Salena. Sometimes they are required to work independently. Discussions with co-workers are encouraged, as is the use of online communication tools.
The Toolbox content is organised according to the units of competency. Each of the units is divided into a series of jobs. These jobs usually equate to one or two elements of competency. This enables the trainer to direct the learner to the elements they need to complete to pass the unit.
