Replaces BSA97, Certificate III Legal Administration Toolbox 202 (9998T12E)
Series 2 (released 2001) revised 2004
The revised Legal Administration Toolbox, supports Certificate II in Business (BSB20101) and Certificate III in Business (Legal Administration) (BSA30200) from the Business Services Training Package BSB01.
In this Toolbox, learning takes place within a medium sized virtual legal office. The learner plays the role of a recently hired Legal Administration Assistant, who participates in the firm's Induction program and performs a range of legal administration tasks. Learners are provided with instructions and reference material to support them through these tasks. A task/competency matrix shows how tasks relate to the competency units. Performing each task involves the mastery of several units of competency.
Educational improvements made in new version include:
• Detailed setting up and customisation information is available in the Installation Guide and Customisation Guide, respectively.
• Additional content has been added wherever content was considered 'not detailed enough'.
• Content has been updated to meet the changes in competency requirements.
• New tasks have been added to cover competencies.
• Peripheral information like external websites, legal terms etc, which have become obsolete, has also been updated.
• Activities have been added to almost all tasks for reinforcement e.g. Learning Portfolio, discussion etc.
• A list of resources (provided for each task) and a common list of legal forms are now available online.
• Competencies covered by every task are listed for ease of use.
• The competency task matrix has been updated.
• Text transcripts have been provided for all audio.
Technical changes include:
• The folder structure has been simplified to allow disaggregation.
• The virtual environment has been redesigned and its structure rationalised.
• The virtual environment is controlled by external files thus allowing teachers to add or remove resources (this process is discussed in detail in the Customisation Guide).
• pdf documents (103) have been converted to HTML, templates have been provided to create additional HTML pages.
• A consistent stylesheet has been applied to all pages.
• Documents like 'Legal Terminology Manual' which was originally a pdf document with embedded sounds has been converted to HTML and sound files have been extracted from the pdf and inserted into HTML to allow modification.
