What is RSS?

What are RSS feeds?

RSS, which stands for "really simple syndication", is an easy way of providing summarised web content so that you can view the latest products. They consist of a title, a description and a link to the extended version.

RSS feeds are a live collation of RSS entries and can be easily subscribed to and consequently read both through RSS specific readers and most modern web browsers.

Why are RSS feeds useful?

They give you the power to read all your favourite news-sources at once by collating selected RSS feeds into your own DIY style newspaper. More specifically, they give the reader the power and convenience of a news source without the hassle of physically visiting every site to which they are subscribed.

How do I read RSS feeds?

First you'll need a RSS reader or "aggregator". We recommend one of RSSReader , RSS Bandit or the Live Bookmark feature of the Mozilla Firefox web browser.

Once you have installed an RSS Reader you can then subscribe to the TVET Product Services RSS feeds: Below the main menu (on the left) are two rss.gif logos. Simply copy the location of the hyperlink next to each logo and paste them individually into your RSS aggregator and you're done!

For further instructions, consult the "help" section of your aggregator's website.
